🔹 1. Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana) – The Holy Invocation
The first and most important step of Navratri Pooja is the establishment of the Kalash (Ghatasthapana), symbolizing the divine presence of Maa Durga in our homes.
🪔 How to perform Ghatasthapana?
✅ Take a brass or clay pot and fill it with holy water (Gangajal)
✅ Place mango leaves and a coconut wrapped in a red cloth on top
✅ Decorate the Kalash with kumkum, turmeric, flowers, and durva grass
✅ Keep the Kalash on a bed of barley seeds, which symbolize prosperity
✅ Light an Akhand Jyoti (sacred lamp) that burns for all nine days
🔆 Chant the mantra: “Om Aim Hreem Kleem Chamundaye Vichche” for Maa Durga’s divine presence in the Kalash.
🔹 2. Daily Worship of Maa Durga’s Nine Forms (Navadurga Pooja)
Each day of Navratri is dedicated to a different form of Maa Durga, and offering prayers to them brings divine blessings.
🌸 Day 1 – Shailputri (Goddess of Strength & Stability) – Offer white flowers & pure ghee
🌸 Day 2 – Brahmacharini (Goddess of Knowledge & Meditation) – Offer sugar & milk
🌸 Day 3 – Chandraghanta (Goddess of Courage & Bravery) – Offer kheer & red flowers
🌸 Day 4 – Kushmanda (Goddess of Energy & Health) – Offer malpua & pumpkin

- Durga Saptashati Path is recited to seek Maa Durga’s protection and divine grace.
- On Ashtami or Navami, a special Havan (Yagya) is performed to purify the atmosphere and invoke prosperity and peace.

On the eighth or ninth day (Ashtami/Navami), Kanya Poojan is performed by worshipping nine young girls, as they are considered the embodiment of Maa Durga.
